After you’ve watched just about every Disney animated film ever made, you start to see (possibly imagine) connections, characters and themes even inNice Chicken heihei Sometimes you just gotta say cluck it and walk away shirt. Maui, the Dwayne Johnson character, feels like Gaston from Beauty and the Beast, just not quite as bloodthirsty. The Ocean feels like Carpet from Aladdin without the tassels. The title character is a princess on a mission, so obviously she’s going to have some similarities to any of the more modern Disney gals, but personality wise she seemed an awful lot like Meridia from Brave (without the accent and flaming red hair).
